Gulf Port – Day 2

We woke up to rain on Day #2. What are girls supposed to do while it’s raining? Have a makeup lesson of course :)

It didn’t rain for long, and the kids got to enjoy the pool all afternoon.

A true diva even poses in the water…

I think Jules ate at least 7 freeze pops this day…

Around 5:00pm each night, something really cool happened with the tide. Where the gulf was once waist deep (on adults), the water would become really shallow. It sort of looked like a huge sandbar that you could walk on into the middle of the gulf.

Here is the edge of the water BEFORE

…and here is what would happen every evening

This would only happen for a couple of hours in the evening, then the water would slowly come up again like normal. I’m not a tide expert, so I’m not going to try to tell you how or why this happens, but it was really fun to play in. This was one of my favorite parts of our trip!
