Kennedy’s Field Trip – Fast Food Farm & Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time on my big girl’s first field trip! I won’t post every picture…I’m not sure if their parents want them on the internet or not, so I’ll just post the safe ones.

We started off at the Fast Food Farm where the kids were able to learn about animals that produce food.

The first stop was in the kitchen where they participated in an activity to learn about soil. The kids were happy that it included cereal and milk!

Next they were able to visit the chickens and learn about eggs!

Kennedy and her cousin Luke – never a dull moment!

Next they learned about corn and got to take an ear of corn to bring home! They were told that corn syrup comes from corn. And what could they make with corn syrup? Bubbles! They were able to make bubbles and have some fun.

Next they…..wait….wait…..time for a pose on the bench!

Now it was time to learn about cows…and milking them! They were able to milk a “cow” and learn about what products could be made from milk.

After they collected their milk, they were able to make real butter! They shook their little containers until they formed butter – it was so tasty too! They ate it on some crackers.

Here’s our attempt at a beautiful pose next to a tree…

Lastly, they learned about bees and pollination. They got to participate in a bee activity and paint a picture for their classroom. The bee’s pollination is sticky and leaves residue just like cheese balls do…so of course they had to eat some cheese balls!

Before heading to the pumpkin patch, the kids were able to eat their lunch and play on the playground. The Fast Food Farm was the perfect field trip for their ages! Thanks to the PreK-3 teachers, Mrs. Kathy & Ms. Denise, for planning and taking the class!

The bus then took us to the Pumpkin Patch were the class rode on the hay ride, walked through the “haunted” house, looked at all the pumpkins, and walked through the trail walk. They also got to pick a small pumpkin to take home.

I was finally able to put faces with the names I always hear about! I had some great one-on-one time with my big girl!
