Spinkler Season

Like most kids, my girls love to play in the sprinkler. We have gone through so many sprinklers, I can’t keep track. This one I bought this week has been my favorite so far. It’s sturdy enough and shoots the water far out from all ends. Most of the ones we’ve had are too flimsy and break after one or two uses, but this one seems to be a winner.

I just love to sit and snap pictures when kids are in a sprinkler. They make the best photos! I couldn’t’ stop my finger from snapping away!

First T-ball Game of the Season

It was finally the day for Kennedy to put her t-ball uniform on “for real” (she has been waiting). Of course, her biggest fan was ready to cheer her on :)

IMG_4502

With the weather threatening, we didn’t’ know if they would be able to play at all, but we headed to the field for individual and team pictures. Since Daddy is one of the coaches, they were able to take a picture together on the field. Of course, Jules needed a daddy-daughter picture as well :)

Future MLB players…my nephews Liam & Dayton!

IMG_3697

It was time for Kennedy’s team to play; however, the sky was getting very dark. The coaches decided they would let all the players bat once, then send everyone home before the rain. We just made it to our car before it started pouring!

The kids crack me up in their oversized shirts, oversized socks, big gloves, and big baseball caps. They look so stinking cute just standing out in the field waiting for someone to tell them what to do next.

Each player is responsible for bringing their own helmet to every game. Naturally, my girl wanted a pink helmet. If you try and buy a helmet in any other color beside black or navy blue, the price will increase – the price jumped about $10 for a pink one. Since Mamma is cheap (and creative) we stuck vinyl polka dots all over a navy blue helmet, and now my girl has a one of kind helmet that stands out. She loves it!

IMG_3707

Kennedy hit the ball on her first swing and ran to first base like a pro!

I’m not sure what was up with all the facial expressions while running! LOL

IMG_3712

IMG_3722

My poor Julesy wanted to play so bad…she was just waiting for her turn (they let her run the bases at practice to feel included).

IMG_3719

After their one inning, the teams congratulated each other on their first game. Of course, Jules joined right in line to high five everyone :)

Even though they got rained out, they had a wonderful time. Good job, Orioles!

Field Day

Kennedy’s school gave the kids a fun field day after mass last week. Parents were invited, and after all the games we had a picnic on the playground. Jules came and thought it was her field day as well :)

Each class was designated a section and/or game to play. After a couple minutes, everyone would switch stations/games. They were too cute. We started in the gym where they had scooter races (individual), scooter races (with teams…pulling your partner with a pool noodle), and crab walk races. I wish I would have brought my better camera, but I’ll know for next year :)

Jules followed Kennedy wherever she went, and she even went sit with the class like she was a student. She will fit right in next year.

Next, we headed outside where they had an animal bean bag race, bean bag toss game, and a bean bag race while balancing the bean bag on top of your head!

Moving to the gym again, the kids enjoyed the long jump and bounce ball race.

We finished off the games with tug-of-war. Jules just walked right up to the rope when it was Kennedy’s turn. She looks up to her sister so much…and Kennedy is such a good sport about it…makes my heart melt.

We had a picnic on the playground, then the girls napped on the way home. They were worn out! It was a super cute day at the school that the kids enjoyed. Kennedy (and Jules) can’t wait to play again next year.

Tiny Dancers

We received our 2014-2015 dancing pictures this weekend, and they are so pretty! The photographer did a great job!

This is Jules’ first recital. Her class is little monsters, and they have the most adorable costume.

This is Kennedy’s 3rd recital. Her ballet dance is so pretty and colorful, and her tap dance is full of feathered cuteness.

I can’t wait to see how Jules will perform on the stage for the first time. I know they will both do great…I think I get more excited than they do :)

IMG_1641

IMG_1647

For fun we got the little monster to scare the ballerina…I love this picture! Jules gets so into her “monster character”, and Kennedy is just thinking, “whatever!”

Halfway

Finally we can say we are halfway there to meeting our baby boy.

We recently had our 20 week ultrasound and everything looks great. He is an active boy, and Mommy can feel him move all day long (and night!) Dad even felt him kick once!

IMG_3675

You would think by Baby #3, naming your child would get easier. Seth and I could not agree on any name…for a boy or a girl. When we found out we were having a boy, Seth was dead set on his name…and not budging.

Easton Matthew

To be honest, I did not like it at first. I kept saying, “Are you sure? Easton? Like the baseball brand?” However, when I saw that look in Seth’s eyes – that dreamy look – I started to think back when I was pregnant with Kennedy…

I loved the name “Kennedy” for years – and when we found out we were having a girl, I just KNEW that was her name. No other names compared, and it just clicked.
Same thing for Jules. We threw around names for a while, and when I said “Jules Camryn”…we just looked at each other and KNEW that was her name.

That’s exactly the feeling I had when I saw Seth saying “Easton Matthew” over and over. This is just as much his pregnancy as it is mine, and I knew he had his heart set on that name. I guess he has the right to name one of the kids ;)

It grew on me…fast. I now love his name, and I’m so glad Daddy chose the perfect name for our son. Let the monogramming begin :)

Now that Easter is over, I can stop hearing the “Easton” song the girls have been singing…
“Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail…hippity hoppity EASTON’s on his way!”

Easter Day 2015

Ahh the excitement on a little one’s face when they wake up Easter morning to see what the bunny has brought!

The bunny at our house fills a basket; however, he does not go crazy. For Kennedy’s first Easter, the bunny went nuts. Then, I realized how much stuff she received from grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. and the bunny switched up his game. I really try and keep it at a minimum for Easter, because I just feel it can get a little overboard. I will save my overboard moments for Christmas and birthday parties :)

Since the girls love playing with their dollhouse lately (they play every single night), they each received some dollhouse furniture from the bunny. Just with that, they were completely thrilled! They were even more interested in what the bunny brought their little brother!

After the morning excitement, the girls got dolled up in their Easter dresses. I had to take a picture of Kennedy’s hair, because I was pretty proud of myself. You can do anything if it comes with a YouTube tutorial :)

We celebrated Easter with my inlaws on this day…in “Choupic”. Each family brings their own barbeque pit (there are about 5 pits lined up), and everyone just relaxes while the men cook all the meat. Again, the kids ate mostly candy. They were running on sugar fumes all weekend.

The girls had fun playing with their cousins they don’t get to see very often. They played games, crafts, and had another Easter egg hunt! The men kept occupied playing in their annual horseshoe tournament.

Again, we came home with way too much stuff – all signs of another successful Easter holiday. I don’t know about the girls, but this momma was exhausted. The weekend wore me out! I am so thankful to be surrounded by good friends and family!

Pre-Easter Festivities

Every year on Good Friday, friends and family gather together at my brother’s house. It was a gorgeous day, and the kids never took a break from playing. Baseball, jumping on the trampoline, riding bikes, dying eggs, and an Easter egg hunt were all part of the fun in the day.

As if they weren’t having enough fun already, Aunt Jamie went and bought a slip-n-slide for all the kiddos. My brother and his neighbor share a ditch in between their two houses, and this became the ultimate slip-n-slide setup. Of course the ditch was dry, so they set up a kiddie pool at the bottom to add extra splash.

The next day added more fun to our weekend. We celebrated Easter at my parent’s house with my brothers and their families. We barbequed; however, I think the kids ate candy for the majority of the day.

Aunt Jamie then hid eggs and let the kids find them with their baskets. Aunt Jamie is always finding fun things to do to keep the kiddos occupied.

It was such a nice and relaxing day, however we missed our big girls Jaden & Hailey. All the kiddos went home with way too much stuff, but they were ready to go to bed that night to wake up and see what the Easter Bunny would bring in the morning.
