When Seth told me to sign Kennedy up for T-ball, I honestly did not think she would make the season. My girl is a bit of a drama queen and does not really like to sit out in the sun and sweat. I didn’t think she would stand in the field when it was her teams turn to take the field, and I didn’t think she would listen to Coach Dad (like she sometimes acts up for Dance Teacher Mom).
However, she sure did surprise me. We discovered she is a hitter – she will be knocking them out of the park in no time! And can I just mention how darn cute she looks in a baseball uniform!? I thinks she enjoys the break from bows and dresses for a little while :)
Her biggest cheerleader, Jules, cannot wait to play next year!
Of course the entire season comes down to the moment when the team receives their trophies. She had been waiting for this moment for weeks. Our parish cooked a pastalaya for all the teams and provided drinks. It was a nice little gathering to end the season. I think Jules could have eaten seconds :)
When trophy time rolled around, Jules went in line with the team. When I explained to her that just the players would be getting a trophy, she had a meltdown. She was so upset she wasn’t going to get one. Kennedy saw Jules having a moment, and what did she do the minute she got her trophy? She immediately walked up to Jules and gave it to her :) My heart melted. She really is the sweetest big sister. She looks after Jules and takes care of her so well.
I’m so glad these cousins were able to play together on the same team this year!
Way to go Kennedy on your first year of T-ball! We are proud of you, sista!
Let’s hope she surprises Mom like this when swim team meets start :)
