We Will Miss You, Herbie!

The kids thought it was hilarious that Herbie created his own shopping list. When I read it to them, Kennedy said, “Well I guess we need to go get what he wants!”

He was feeling playful the next day when we found him playing with some of Easton’s new toys!

The next morning we found him dangling from the dining room light.

He made us so proud the next day when we found him saying his prayers by the dollhouse bed.

The  next morning we found him trapped in our glass vase!

He must have had a fun night, because we found him playing hot potato with some new friends!

It was bittersweet the next day when we found that he left us a goodbye note.

We will miss the little guy – he helps us create some wonderful Christmas memories for our family. See you next year, Herbie!

Busiest Time of the Year

Last week was nonstop! Between Christmas activities for work, Christmas parties, and school plays, we could barely keep up!

Friday, in particular, was jammed packed. We started off with the Christmas play at the girls’ school. Adorable as usual!

Kennedy was a star, and made sure everyone could hear that voice in the microphone :) Can you tell she loves being on the stage!?

Jules was not far behind…joining her class in pajamas as they sang their song and rang their jingle bells. They were absolutely adorable.

To end the show with a bang, it started SNOWING during the finale!

To add to the busy day, we had to make a stop at Chuck-E-Cheese. Why you ask? My Jules Camryn has been sleeping in her bed!!!! Just like I did for her sister, I made Jules a “bedtime chart.” Once she earned 5 stickers, I promised her she would get to go to Chuck-E-Cheese. It only took her about a week and a half, and  voila! No more Jules in our bed! (I secretly miss her, but I love my own space haha)

When we got home, we then bathed and changed for more Christmas fun! Seth’s cousins put on an annual light show at their house, and it never disappoints. This year, Elsa, Anna, Mickey, and Minnie were there to join in on the fun. I feel sorry for Elsa and Anna, because my girls were literally glued to their hip. I forgot my good camera (it was charging from all the fun earlier in the day), but we were able to get some goodies with the phone. The girls are still talking about this night – great memories.

Another tradition which with kids look forward to is waving to Santa on the firetruck. The Sunday before Christmas, Santa and his elves parade through the streets and throw candy to the kiddos. Our neighborhood gang gets bigger and bigger every year!

In between all of that fun, my BIG boy turned 4 months! He is so much fun right now. He is still eating me out of this house, but he is a happy boy so I don’t mind. He is babbling and reaching for toys, and he LOVES watching his sisters play. He also cracks up laughing at Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Busy time of year, but glad we can make memories like this with our family. I am looking forward to some rest, though ;)

He’s STILL at it!

After Herbie thawed out from being frozen by Elsa, we found him shooting hoops in Easton’s room!

DSC_0008

The next morning, he showed us how much he loved us by holding a picture of everyone…and a sign that said “I love my family!” He even left Christmas pajamas for the kids.

He must have been sneaking around in the playroom that night, because the girls found him trapped in their washing machine!

DSC_0010

The next day we found him hanging out in the kitchen

DSC_0011

Herbie must have seen that the dollhouse car needed some tuning up, because we found that he had the car jacked up…he was underneath fixing it with his tools! Watch out, Cazenave Motors…you have some competition here :)

DSC_0021

That little stinker was back at it the next day when he toilet papered the kids bathroom…Kennedy said, “Now how are we supposed to take a bath!?”

DSC_0022

DSC_0023

The next morning we caught him cruisin’ the streets on the doll’s motorcycle!

DSC_0012

Poor Easton was out of a swing the next day…Herbie hijacked it!

DSC_0024

In the midst of his shenanigans, Herbie found the time to get pampered. We found him in the beauty chair getting his hair did :)

DSC_0025

The girls did some fussing the next day when they found that Herbie put their underwear all over our Christmas tree. They fussed him saying, “Really, Herbie! The tree is not for underwear!”

DSC_0043

DSC_0053

DSC_0050

All that fooling around made Herbie feel under the weather…the next morning we found he had caught a cold! Kennedy immediately said, “He probably caught that from Jules!”

DSC_0015

He must have been feeling much better!  Look what we found on our wall picture! (I secretly giggle every time I pass this…it’s so funny looking)

Eat, Drink, and be Tacky

We hosted the annual Tacky Sweater Party at our house again this year. Only in Louisiana would we have 70 degree weather for a sweater party :) Seth originally had a sweater planned, but when we figured out the weather would be so warm, he opted for the getup below :/

Everyone brought a dish, and it was fun as usual – we added a voting game for Tacky, Tackier, and Tackiest getups!

After our steal-a-gift games, a friend decided to bring a game called “Bean Boozled.” Basically, you spin a wheel and get two jelly beans. One is YUM(buttered popcorn, pear, tutti fruity, etc), and one is YUCK (vomit, rotten egg, molded cheese etc.) I just enjoyed watching these fools play :)

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

Since I was taking my friend’s family pictures at a cottage nearby, I figured I would bring my gang in hopes to get a Christmas card shot.

Getting everyone to look at the camera is the hardest part…my kids smile automatically, but their eyes just wonder around while they hold their smile. And for some reason I thought it would be a great idea to add our Harley Marley into the mix, so getting him to look as well was another challenge. Believe it or not, he is always the best behaved out of everyone.

DSC_0117

All in all, I think we have some good ones, and our Christmas card winner. One of my favorites is my girls playing with the oversized checkers set. I love the random ones the best :)

He’s Baaackkk

Our December family member, Herbie, came back to spread his holiday cheer with our house. He wrote us a note to make sure we knew he returned!

DSC_0077

The next day, it took a little while to find him…he was on top of the column in our house!

DSC_0078

When the girls woke up the next morning they found he had made a pyramid with toilet paper rolls!

DSC_0086

Then we found Herbie having a glow party the next day!

DSC_0095

DSC_0102

Herbie is something else! He is loving the Louisiana heat these days…he even brought his own sunscreen, magazine, & goggles!

DSC_0105

I guess he loves relaxing, because he brought a little boat to float in the girls’ sink! Unfortunately, someone mysteriously tipped this boat, and Herbie ended up SOAKED.

DSC_0111

He sure knows his way around this house! He dried off with a towel and the blow dryer!

DSC_0001

The next morning something very unusual happened…Elsa FROZE Herbie! He was frozen in a block of ice on our kitchen counter!

DSC_0004

DSC_0002

Kennedy & Jules did not know what to think! They were just staring…and staring….and staring. They did not say a word. I let them know that the sun would be shining right on that very spot, and that it would melt the ice to set Herbie free. I heard a little sigh of relief afterwards :)
