Easton’s First Birthday – Puppy Pawty

I had so much fun planning and decorating Easton’s puppy paw-ty. He loves dogs, so I thought this theme was super cute for a boy. Snips & snails & puppy dog tails, right!?

Easton

Of course I had to throw in some themed food – served in dog bowls. The puppy suckers (Oriental Trading) were a hit – I also loved the sign on the bathroom door ;)

One of my favorite decorations were the dog face balloons. A little construction paper and a permanent marker can turn any balloon into the cutest puppy decoration! For favors, the girls helped me paint paw prints on white frisbees.

We spent all morning setting up everything outside on the patio where we planned for the party to take place. Mother Nature reminded us not to plan TOO far ahead….about an hour before the party began, the heavens opened up and gave us a torrential downpour.

We spent the next hour moving the entire party inside our house. It was crazy & loud, but turned out fine – the birthday boy had a great time and that’s all that matters. Wonderful memories made – no matter where you are :)

Yes my house was a mess afterwards, but messes can be cleaned – it reminds me of a quote my mom used to have in our house growing up…”Excuse the mess, the children are making memories.”

I made everything except the Happy Birthday banner and the highchair banner. Those beauties came from Make My Day.

I ordered some doggie ears for the kiddos, and I painted their faces like little pups. They were too cute!

The cake was made by Sugarcoated by Michelle. It was so doggone cute – of course after I took the “official” cake picture, I noticed one of the puppies stuck their little paws in the cake…I have a good guess of who that was (*cough* JULES *cough*)

I thought for sure my boy would be in Heaven eating his cake, but it turned out he did not like the crowd or attention. He was overwhelmed and just wanted to eat in peace!

Despite the weather, his party turned out great… he was exhausted by the end! He could not keep his eyes open.

I hope you had a wonderful first birthday, my man! We love you so much!

Dear Easton on your First Birthday

My sweet Easton,

What a year it has been welcoming you into this world. It feels like you have been here all of our lives! You make us smile everyday with your chubby cheeks, white hair, and super cute personality.

IMG_5852

Just like your sisters, you have a love for food. You eat anything – literally. When you run out of whatever is on your tray, you yell at us for more! We definitely know when you are empty and need more!

IMG_5866

IMG_5862

I love how you are a momma’s boy. You are SO spoiled! I try and savor those moments when you are attached at my hip, because I know one day you just won’t want me to hold you anymore :( You are so sweet when you just put your head on my shoulder and pat my back. I love every minute of your spoiled rottenness.

IMG_5857

That hair. Your hair will catch the hearts of all the girls. So many people comment on your white waves. I don’t know what we will do with your hair as your get older, but for now, we enjoy your wild locks.

IMG_5861

DSC_0115

You have grown into such a big boy. No one would ever guess you had Pyloric Stenosis when you were 4 weeks. You went from being a tiny little baby shrimp to our big boy real fast!

IMG_5853

IMG_5863

Of course, you are well known for your piggy sound. Anyone that knows you, tells you to make the piggy sound…and you do it every time! You’ve been snorting since you were 8 months old! The more people laugh at that snort, the more you make the sound! Such a ham! We love your personality so much!

I love how you are already talking. Again, following in your sisters footsteps! You can say mama, dada, uh oh, bye bye, thank you, and hi! You are not walking yet (why walk when you sisters carry you around everywhere!?) You are standing up, but only take one step. I am not complaining, though, because I have a feeling when you start…you won’t stop!.

I hope you have a great first birthday, my love. Momma loves you more than you know.

Love, Mom

Pre-K & Kindergarten

The girls were counting down until their first day of school – not sure how many more years we will have with them being so excited about the first day!

The most exciting part of Jules’ day was that she is now able to ride the bus to school!! She told everyone about her ride when she arrived at school.

Easton loves coming watch the girls get on the bus each morning. He is too cute when he waves at the bus driver.

The good thing about having girls, is that they tell me every little detail when they get home. I don’t think I will get as much information from Mr. Easton.

They had a wonderful first day….Jules painted, they ate hot dogs for lunch, the bus was fun, and Kennedy “FINALLY got to use real scissors.”

Hope you continue to have a great year, my girlies!

Gulf Shores – Last Day

My buddy and I had our coffee and breakfast alone on the last day – the other beach bums slept late! Our last morning was spent like the rest…fun in the sand!

As an unexpected treat on our last day, all three munchkins fell asleep at the same time :) Mommy & Daddy were able to enjoy the waves in peace!

One our last evening, all the kids (and some adults) cleaned up nicely and took some pictures on the beach. I usually have a nice little picture all planned out with the kids in matching outfits, but this year (since we just took family pictures) I decided I would photograph them in their beach hats that I loved so much.

Can you believe Easton sat in the sand for these pictures, and didn’t raise a fuss at all!? Last day, and he finally became used to the sand. He’ll be full force next year!

Of course, with this crew, you are bound to get a silly picture – I love them so much :)

We try our hardest to get a group picture…best we could do with 21 under the age of 8! We had several random people comment at how well behaved this group was – we are so proud of these kiddos!

After pictures, the moms let loose for a girls nice out to Flora Bama. It was the perfect ending to our wonderful trip to Gulf Shores. We can’t wait until next year!

Gulf Shores – Day 4

The girls enjoyed the morning boogie boarding and looking for clams. They had a bucket full of clams they found – so proud!

All of the babies were finally awake at the same time, so we posed them for a picture – they weren’t amused. Also, Easton’s rolls were a little distracting…

We left the beach a little early on this day to walk to The Flora Bama Yacht Club across the street. There was a man playing guitar, and the kids were able to dance on the stage and play in sand by the bay. It was  a good time before we headed back for supper!

For lunch, Daddy & Easton stayed on the beach, while Mom took the girls on their first trip to Flora Bama. We had a good ‘ole hamburger and fries for lunch. While we waited for the food, we did what we do best – had a photo shoot, of course! I have an eery feeling the girls will be recreating these photos when they are older. I can’t wait to see them :)
