Last Minute Pumpkin Patch

Since the girls went to a huge pumpkin patch for their field trip, I was going to let Easton skip this year. However, I was thinking about his trip last year…and realized he didn’t go last year either! I felt bad and decided to bring him for his first visit to the pumpkin patch. I would say he enjoyed himself!

Kennedy and Jules loved showing him all the pumpkins and all the photo ops. Poses for days – peace sign is the new one right now. (Disclaimer: we did not dye Jules’ eyebrows red…we went to a birthday party the day before, and all of the face paint came off…except for red)

Jules & Kennedy’s favorite part was the little haunted house. It was one room full of fun decorations and scary noises. Easton wasn’t a fan!

It was a fun and quick trip! Thanks to Nana for tagging along and helping to tame these little monsters. Hope you had fun at your first pumpkin patch, Easton!

First Homecoming Ever!

Growing up I can remember being asked to homecoming in the parish pee wee football league. How quickly does time pass! Now our girls walked in their very first homecoming, and it was the cutest thing I ever did see.

To start off homecoming week, the football players and cheerleaders ride in a homecoming parade throughout the area. It’s a fun way to kick off a week full of activities.

At first they were thrilled to ride in a parade. However, the minute it started, Ms. Jules became a little scared. One cheerleader down! For the rest of the parade, Jules enjoyed catching beads and candy from Kennedy. The parade ended at the Rams pep rally where the girls cheered!

On Homecoming day, the football players ask someone to walk down the field as their name is called. This year, our cousins Luke & Landen asked Kennedy & Jules to walk by their side. How adorable!!

The girls were eager to get dressed up and wear makeup. A cold front came through this past weekend, so it was chilly. They were wrapped in blankets and towels before they walked!

Thanks to Landen and Luke for making our girls feel so special! You both had a great season – GO RAMS!

Daddy’s Girls

There’s something about seeing your husband with your newborn baby. It melts my heart into a puddle of hormonal mess. As they grew and I watched him grow as a daddy, I felt a love for him I never knew possible. It happened with every baby…I just love to watch him be a daddy.

It so fun to see him with his little boy…doing the typical daddy/son things. However, to see him with those girls…O.M.G. I don’t know what it is about a daddy and his girls, but all I see is rainbows and unicorns when I watch them play.

A friend sent me a song link this morning that instantly had me tearing up (shocker). She said it reminded her of our family, and I could not agree more.

PreK & Kindergarten Field Trip

This year was a treat, because I was able to attend both girls field trips at the same time! PreK-4 & Kindergarten went to Ms. Heather’s Pumpkin Patch in Hammond, and it was a blast. They wore the pumpkin t-shirts they designed in class (they each were able to design their pumpkin face).

They started off petting the donkey, posing for some photo ops, and getting their faces painted.

It was so extremely hot. Only in Louisiana can you pick pumpkins while sweating profusely. I should have brought more water in their lunch boxes, because they kept asking for drink!

dsc_0203

We were so excited to see some surprise visitors show up!

We then headed to the play area where they could swing, jump on the incredibly fun air bubble contraption, and rode their first zip line!

It didn’t take Kennedy & Jules long to find the perfect pumpkin. They picked one, weighed it, and then wrote their names. We decorated them with colorful marker when we got home.

After a picnic lunch, they ended the trip by throwing bean bags and measuring their heights. Kennedy is almost 4 feet tall! Jules is just over three feet! They are both growing like weeds.

It was a bonus that I was able to attend their field trips at the same time. Love these girls, and I love how close they are with one another. Thanks to the teachers for another fun day!

The Fruit of our Loins

I was sitting on the porch watching the kids play in the yard, and I started thinking how each of them are miniature versions of me and Seth.

Kennedy is a natural caretaker. She is always the first to help with Jules or Easton. If she gets a cookie for herself, she is always getting two extras to give to her brother and sister. She has natural motherly instincts…I like to think she gets this from me.

She is the leader of the group, and she handles her title well. She has the softest heart, gets upset easily , but will belly laugh until she can’t breathe (guilty).

Seth thinks she gets her athletic abilities from him, but I would like to think I helped a little bit – especially in the dance and gymnastics department.

dsc_0231

She is very silly, but determined. She loves to make people laugh…but not in front of strangers. She loves to put on a show, but only in front of people she knows well. Very outgoing, but very reluctant at the same time. Neither Seth nor myself are shy, so I’m not really sure where she picked up a shy trait!

dsc_0195

Jules is a free spirit. She is just care free and goes with the flow. I suppose she gets that from me. But Jules always fights back…don’t push her buttons, because she will come back strong. She gets that from Seth. Her hair….well, she has me to thank for that :)

img_7528

Jules can run super fast – I definitely give this one to Seth – I can’t even run to the mailbox. Whether she’s running, jumping, etc, she is always laughing – I’ll claim that one!

She eats everything in sight (guilty). She is the least patient out of the group (ahem, Seth), but she is a sweetheart. She always randomly picks a flower for me, and she always always says “I love you” out of the blue <3

dsc_0198

Both Kennedy & Jules love Snapchat, which I can say 100% that would be from me.

img_7527

Easton loves to be loved. He loves to cuddle and snuggle. One of his favorite things to do is sit on me to watch TV. He runs a close race with Jules in the appetite department, and he likes his demands to be met. (I’m not calling out any names here…)

He has a way with the ladies…and if I remember right, his dad was a womanizer back in the day ;)

img_7144

But he is SO boy. Just like his daddy, he LOVES to be outside, he is obsessed with the four-wheeler, and he could watch a tractor or cane truck for an hour straight.

img_7407

Sometimes I sit back and watch them play. I think to myself how amazingly awesome it is that we made these beautiful miracles. All of our qualities mixed up into three beautiful little humans.

Blessed. That is all.

4th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest

Since we were all set up in pumpkin theme from Kennedy’s party, we decided to roll right into our annual pumpkin carving party the same night.

carving

What started as a random night of fun, ended up being one of our favorite traditions every Fall season. We used to have more pumpkins than kids, but now the kids have taken over!

Every year the judges go to dinner, and we call them when everyone’s pumpkin is complete. All the pumpkins turned out great again this year. I love that we have these memories with our kiddos while they are still small! Pretty soon they will be our competition!!

Kennedy’s Golden Birthday Party

It was bittersweet planning Kennedy’s party this year…now that she’s getting older, her parties will turn into a movie with her friends or a sleepover. She was just born yesterday, I swear :(

_1128271807-kennedy-invite-5x7

Since it was her golden birthday this year, we decided to decorate in gold…and pumpkins! It was very fall-themed with hints of gold. Pappy cooked a delicious gumbo, and Nana made a fantastic potato salad. The weather was absolutely gorgeous!

It was WINDY, but the decorations held up for the most part…with the help of a little duct tape.

Pappy attached his tractor to the trailer filled with hay, and the kids enjoyed a couple of hay rides throughout the party.
