Kids Christmas Gift List

I decided to put together some of my favorite gifts of all time – many of them gender neutral!

One of our all time favorite books to read – Tickle Monster. The set comes with giant tickle monster gloves to wear (and tickle) as you read. My kids LOVE this book! I actually saw it in a hospital gift shop, but I purchased it on Amazon.

What to get the kid that has everything!? A tooth fairy pillow! My kids don’t need these yet, but I have purchased these as gifts. They are meant to put right next to the pillow you sleep on….the tooth fairy carefully inserts money into the convenient little pouch located on the tooth fairy pillow. Perfect!

The ones pictured below are from LittleDollCloset & RubyLewisDesigns

I knew my girls would love Blankie Tails the minute I saw them on TV. It’s a blanket made to look like a mermaid tail or shark tail. They are super soft and very well made!

Another gift for the kid who has everything – a personalized plate or placemat. I get these through Shutterfly only, because I always have a coupon paired with the savings code of the week….which makes my gift dirt cheap!

Of course my go-to Scentsy gift for babies and small kids is a Scentsy Buddy or Baby Buddy. The larger buddies come with a scent pak that gets inserted into the buddy leaving him/her smelling divine. I absolutely love the way our playroom smells with all the Scentsy buddies we have! I usually get them paired with the French Lavender scent for a nice restful nap or bedtime :)

The baby buddies come scented already (can’t change the scent out), and they have baby teething rings attached – adorable!

We definitely will be asking Santa for a Quiet Book this Christmas. I have seen these in church with other families. It is an interactive book for small children to help keep them busy in quiet situations. These particular ones are from mokkaQUIETbook & lenaquilt; however, there are many different options other than the one pictured. They can be customized, gender specific, object specific, etc.

Hope this helps some of you who don’t know what to buy the little ones!

I Can’t Get Rid of the Bottle

Easton is perfectly fine with drinking out of a sippy cup all day. He’s been drinking out of a sippy cup since he was 9-10 months old and never had an issue.

At night, however, when we are rocking as he falls asleep….I give him milk in a bottle. It’s not his choice…it’s mine. He would be content if I gave him his sippy cup, but I can’t. I have one lonely bottle left in my cabinet. The bottle that he gets rocked to sleep with every single night. I just can’t bring myself to take it away. You know why?

…because then I have to pack it up.

I have to put it away with the rest of the baby stuff…and I am having a hard time! He’s the last one (unless God has a big surprise plan for us) , and I just cannot pick up the last piece of baby I have left :(

He’s such a big boy, so he looks like a big preschooler drinking out of that bottle – but he’s still my baby. Why do I have such a hard time with the growing up part!?

3rd Annual Boucherie

Another boucherie to add to the books! Lots of friends, lots of food, and some good music – the gorgeous weather was an added bonus. The cooking started at 7:00 am – we had yummy pork stew, cracklin’, hog head cheese, boudin, and greades.

Our house looked like a small daycare or school, but the kids had so much fun. I must say, our town makes some of the cutest kiddos around ;)

Trick-Or-Treat

Halloween on a Monday :( In my opinion, Halloween should always be the last Saturday of October! It would be much more enjoyable and less rushed….but that’s my opinion :)

This year our family dressed as the characters in The Wizard of Oz. We had Dorothy, Glinda, and the cutest little lion.

We gathered all the kids in the area, and we trick-or-treated around the neighborhood. We didn’t even have to walk! Thanks to our Pappy, we got a luxurious hay ride!

Living in Louisiana, you never know what type of weather you will get for Halloween. Sometimes they need coats, other times (like this year) they are sweating. I think that was the Cowardly Lion’s problem – he was HOT. He had his costume off before we even started trick-or-treating. For the rest of the night he was EASTON….t-shirt and diaper just he way he likes it!

When we finished collecting the sweets, we ended the night with a piñata! Easton liked participating in that part :)
