Kennedy’s Kindergarten Field Trip – Strawberry Farm

For Kennedy’s Kindergarten field trip, we visited Liuzza Land Farms – a (mostly) strawberry farm with so many activities for kids. Such a fun trip! The farm is decorated so perfectly, and everything was so organized – a must when dealing with field trips year round!

Our first stop was AgVenture Land where the focus was “farm to table”. The kids learned how food is harvested and how goods are collected…milk, wool, eggs, produce etc.  They then were given some food to feed the goats around the area!

Next we headed to the enormous jumping pillow and hill slide – they really enjoyed these two! It was hot, but it didn’t stop the fun.

We hopped on a wagon for a guided tour around the fields – over 500 acres! We learned about fertilizing, harvesting, packing & cooling, and delivering the produce.

Next was the fun part – actually picking the strawberries! We were able to get in the fields and pick a crate for each of us to bring home – Jules, Easton, and Daddy were happy when we got home with these goodies!

After lunch, the kids planted a seed for them to take home and water. We have our plant on our windowsill and anxiously wait for the first green sprout!

The class ended the trip with a mule ride around the area!

Did I mention there’s a random zebra on site? Not sure how he fit in, but I liked him!

Super cool field trip with my first baby – it’s nice to have that one on one time we rarely get nowadays :)

Easter’s On It’s Way!

The day before Easter, we had some fun activities going on at Nana & Grampi’s house. The kids had an Easter egg hunt, did sack races, and dyed eggs!

Pappy picked some fresh carrots from his garden, so that is what we left for The Easter Bunny that night! He ate every single carrot and left the stems!

The girls received DVDs and some fun stuff for the pool this summer. Easton received his favorite – balls! He also got a train whistle! Every time someone would blow it he would make this face:

We got dressed to go visit our family in Choupic. The girls looked so lovely.

I could not even handle Easton in his bow tie. He LOVED it. He did not take it off all day – he is such a ham!

We then headed to see our family in Choupic – always such a good time over there!

In typical Jules fashion, she managed to get her pretty dress filthy. When I asked her what happened she nonchalantly said, “I fell in the ditch”….and then just continued playing. HOT MESS!

The rain held out this year for a wonderfully spent Easter. He is risen!

Filthy Friday

On Good Friday, we always visit my brother’s house for a good ole fashioned crawfish boil. A beautiful day ended with some rain…and some filthy kiddos.

The girls were anxious to jump in the canal with the boys…I told them to hold off since we did not bring an extra set of clothes. They kept inching their way closer and closer….

Poor Easton just wanted someone to play ball – this is the case 24/7. He either kicks a ball, holds his bat, or starts throwing a ball until he convinces someone to play :)

The rain came later in the afternoon, but it did not stop any of the kids. They all just played in the rain. Easton could not stop smiling – he absolutely loved to run in the rain.

Like I mentioned before, the girls were inching closer and closer to that muddy canal….and not surprisingly “just slipped” into the muddy mess. They just don’t know how it happened!!

Another wonderful day spent with some great family and friends. We used triple the amount of soap we normally would use at bath time, but you can’t beat memories like these!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail…

The Bunny Bash at Aunt Connie’s house just gets better and better each year. We had a huge crew this year which made the festivities even better!

We started out dyeing Easter Eggs – poor Easton fell asleep right before we started, so he was snoozing during this activity.

Next up was bunny sack races – this was so funny to watch. The kids jump and jump and jump and just pray they get somewhere :) When the moms joined in, it was even funnier!

Egg balancing on a spoon can’t be easy! Kennedy was a pro at this one (which surprised me since she is so clumsy).

Our favorite visitor arrived – Peter Cottontail himself! Easton just stared at him…at least he did not cry! Of course we took our annual family picture on the bunny…Jules was just a baby the first time we did this – they grow too fast!

It was Easter Egg Hunt time next! The little ones were able to go first. Easton found two eggs (all by himself), and he was so excited. Once he had one in each hand, he just quit the hunt and went play with his two eggs  :)

The big kid hunt was afterwards – Jules won a prize for finding the most eggs! Good eyes Julesy Wulsey!

Lastly, the kids had a silly string fight – this was the girls’ favorite (and my favorite pictures out of them all!) You cannot help but smile when looking at these pictures – it looks like so much fun!! I think next year the moms will have to participate in this activity as well :)

Another successful Bunny Bash! We can’t thank Aunt Connie enough for organizing this every year – the kids look forward to this every Easter. We appreciate it!

Currently…

Where did March go? I feel like we just celebrated Christmas, and we are almost celebrating Easter!

Our days have been spent playing in the yard lately – the weather (for the most part) has been in our favor. Thunderstorms bring extra visitors in the bed, but momma doesn’t mind a pileup in the bed every once in a while <3

My Godchild, Jaden, had her senior art show at her school so we all went out to support! The kids could not wait to eat Hibachi afterwards – they talked about it days before.

IMG_9869

I just love watching them at the Hibachi table – they cannot control their laughter. Easton just stared and stared. He didn’t say much! Jules loved to catch the flying eggs in her mouth – Kennedy wasn’t a fan.

The next day we went to a friends house and spent the afternoon. They had cake there which Easton was eyeing. I took off his shirt and let him go to town. He was in Heaven!
