Jules’ 5th Birthday Party – MOANA

Our latest movie on repeat has been Moana! I surely don’t mind, because it’s super cute movie, and I love the soundtrack! Jules was so excited to have a slip-n-slide Moana party for her birthday this year :)

We were nervous about the weather, but when Jules woke up that morning she assured me that she prayed for the weather to stay away! Jesus must have listened, because it did not rain until the party was over!

The kids were excited for an inflatable waterslide – perfect touch to the hot day! Harley & Deuce wanted to come play really bad, but they had to watch from the inside :)

Next, Dad set up a huge sheet of visqueen…added some soap…and the kids began slip-n-sliding! I think Dad was itching to slide too :)

When it was time for cake, Jules told me she thought long and hard about her wish she was going to make – and I can see it in the pictures! She didn’t tell anyone her secret wish!

I think everyone enjoyed their cupcakes…especially Mr. Easton who demolished his piece.

Next up was Jules’ favorite part – presents! Kennedy made her very own card for Jules, and was very proud to give it to the birthday girl!

When I asked Jules what she wanted us to get her for her birthday she said, “surprise me.” She’s so laid back! We decided on a Hatchimal – and I think she was definitely surprised :)

To Jules on Your 5th Birthday

My Julesy,

These letters get harder and harder to write every year. It means you are growing fast – much faster than I would like! However, you are growing into such a young lady…and Dad and I are so proud.

You have the most kindest & gentlest heart. You always think of others, and you always want what’s best for other people. For your birthday this year, you asked Nana for a Build-A-Bear. She brought you to the mall by yourself, and let you stuff, dress, and name your bear (bunny). You asked Nana if you could make 2 bears…so that you could bring one home to Kennedy. You are just the sweetest little girl! We are so lucky to have such a caring daughter!

You still randomly come up to me and say, “Mom, I love you!” It melts my heart every time. You are the best snuggler and cuddler…and I could squeeze you to pieces! I wonder how long you will let me do that!

GCP-75

Not only are you beautiful on the inside, but on the outside too! Your curls, dimples, and that tan (that Mom is so jealous of) will break the hearts of many little boys one day….one day FAR FAR away.

You have so much determination. A couple of months ago, you randomly asked me to take the training wheels off of your bike. I tried helping you and showing you how to ride on two wheels. You kept pushing me away, and told me you could do it by yourself! It took two days, and you were riding everywhere. You work hard for what you want!

Keep being your own person….keep being Jules! I love that you stay true to yourself no matter what.

I hope you had a fantastic birthday party this weekend – you deserve everything in the world! I love you so much, Julesy Wulesy!

Love,

Mom

Easton came for the preliminaries – he was all over the place :) The rocks kept him entertained for a minute!

This was Jules’ very first invitationals, and she did great! She did not qualify for the finals, but we are very proud of her for swimming!

Kennedy was up next in preliminaries – she qualified first overall in freestyle, and third overall in backstroke. When it came down to butterfly, she had a mishap with her goggles – she did not qualify for butterfly :(

One highlight of the invitationals is when the swimmers parade around the pool by teams. This years theme was “Swim Wars”, so every team was STAR WARS themed. We were Darth Gators :)

On the day of the finals, Kennedy was still nervous and worried about her goggle mishap from the day before. She ended up not swimming the freestyle competition. It was disappointing, but I had to remind myself that she is only six. I know it’s a lot of pressure. After a couple of pep talks, she did manage to swim backstroke!

Another highlight of our weekend was watching DADDY swim! Seth swam butterfly in the alumni relay at the end of the weekend. Kennedy and Jules were screaming from the sidelines – it was priceless :)

Even though we had some bumps along the way, we are so proud of our Gator swim team for finishing strong! It’s a wonderful weekend to bring the team closer together!

Swim Season 2017 (Meets)

This was an exciting year, because Jules was able to join the swim team! She was so excited to swim in her very first swim meet. She is now able to swim the length of the pool without holding onto the rope!

Kennedy kept us proud as she swam freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly all season.

The highlight of their year (which they are STILL talking about) was the girls spa sleepover the coaches put on for the girls on the team. They painted nails, did makeup, hair, facials, manicures, & pedicures. They had an absolute blast!
