Our Polar Express

I wanted to capture my kiddos while they are still in the “magic” of Christmas stage. I absolutely love this time of year with young kids. I love watching them find the elf as soon as they wake up, I love watching their eyes as they tell Santa what they want…I love all the magic. So that’s exactly what I wanted to bring alive on our very own Polar Express photo shoot!

At sunset, we drove to the nearby railroad track…just down the street from Nana’s house! Just like the book/movie, all the kids were dressed in pajamas, looking for the train to take them to the North Pole.

“The thing about trains… it doesn’t matter where they’re going. What matters is deciding to get on.”

I had an idea in my head of the picture I wanted. It’s so magical, and I cannot wait to print it and display it every Christmas. Santa sprinkled some magical dust and made the North Pole train appear. He even left us a bonus by making it snow ;)

Turkey Day 2017

We spent Thanksgiving Day at Maw & Pappy’s house. We had all the fixings and ate way too much! The next day we did it all over again….at Nana & Grampi’s house! We were lucky to get the entire crew in one picture that day :)

I decided to take some close ups of the kids dressed in their fall outfits. I sat them on our front porch and just let them BE. My favorite pictures are the ones of them laughing SO hard.

Cajun Kips Classic – Level 1 – First Gym Meet EVER

Sweaty palms, nausea, weak knees, upset stomach, the shakes….and those were just MOMMA’S symptoms! Even though my girl was super nervous for her very first gym meet, she rocked it out and had so much fun!

When we walked into the arena, she could not stop looking around and taking it all in – she was wide eyed and smiling! She kept jumping with nervous energy. Biggest fan, Jules, was right there with her experiencing it all, too. We left Easton home, because (A) Momma needed to concentrate, and (B) he would have been on the beam with Kennedy.

I have been through t-ball games, dance recitals, school plays, and swim meets. This was BY FAR the most nerve-wracking performance to watch. I don’t know if it was the people or the judges…..I just knew how much she loves gymnastics and how hard she works. I could not even eat! Remind me to hide a flask in my purse next meet (kidding).  She definitely eased my nerves with every event. She became more and more comfortable as the meet went on.

The biggest challenge of the entire day was my camera – grrrr. Thank goodness I was prepared with video camera backup – ya’ll know how I like my action shots, though! I’ll get my pictures next meet!

Good job, Love Bug!

Trick or Treat! Smell my …..nevermind

The super kids really enjoyed their costumes this year. They loved getting into character and playing the part. It was especially enjoyable for Easton since this was the first year he truly understood the trick or treating experience. He loved screaming “BATMAN!” to make sure everyone knew who was coming!

Wonder Woman, Kennedy, was in candy beast mode. This girl was on a mission for ALL the candy this year. She even hit extra houses after we were done!

Super girl, Jules, loved all the chips and juice she received! I told them our pantry looks like a concession stand now.

We hopped on a hayride and went through our neighborhood. This was the most trick or treaters our neighborhood has seen in a while!

Toward the end of the trip (thankfully), Easton became a smelly mess. Not only was HE smelly, but he STEPPED in something smelly. I had take him straight to the bathtub and ended up throwing his Batman costume away. Maybe Santa can bring him a new one :) Holidays are always interesting with small kids!

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable 2017 Halloween! The kids are already making Christmas lists!
