Jules’ 6th Birthday Party – PAINT!

We invited the neighborhood girls over for some painting fun to celebrate Jules turning 6 years old. It was the easiest and most quiet birthday party ever!

Capture

I bought blank canvases and wooden initials for each girl to paint. Our summer babysitter is super talented and drew a picture on each canvas for the girls to color. They came out so precious.

Nana and I helped the girls get what colors they needed. They literally just sat there and painted. They were so well behaved! I had to get a radio to play some music since it was so quiet. Birthday win!

We made Jules hide her eyes for her present from Mom, Dad, Kennedy, & Easton. Poor baby has been needing a new bike for a while. She was super surprised! She does so well riding that big bike!

When the painting portion was over, we called our boy cousins and neighborhood friends over for cake. This was my first year at attempting a cake on my own. I decided on a cupcake pull-apart cake. I’m proud of myself for my first time trying – but I will stick to ordering them from now on :)

The finished products came out super cute – I have ours hanging in the playroom. They did such a good job on their little masterpieces. I hope you had a fun party, Julesy Wulsey!

To Jules on your 6th Birthday

My sweet girl,

The more I watch you grow, the more I tell myself to be more like Jules! You don’t let many things bother you, you adapt to any situation, and you always have a smile on your face. I hope you never lose your carefree spirit, because it’s one of your best traits!

If anyone is sitting on the couch with me at night…it’s you. You are my “snuggle bunny” and you love to hug and cuddle with mommy. Our spot on the sofa is getting smaller and smaller as you grow, but there will ALWAYS be room!

You are such a great friend. You always think of others, and always play nice with everyone. No wonder everyone loves that Julesy Wulsey!

I love to just watch you when you don’t notice I’m there. You say and do really random things, and you make me laugh so much.

I love that you don’t have to follow what everyone else is doing. You could be in the middle of a game with your friends, and then just say “I’m going take a nap!” You love your food and sleep! That’s why you are such a happy girl…always rested and always full :)

We are so proud of you, Jules! You are such a good girl…rarely getting into trouble. I know you will rock first grade pretty soon! You are the sweetest sister and daughter, and we are lucky God put you into our family. I hope you enjoyed your painting party and your new bike! I cannot wait to continue celebrating with you when we are on the beach in a couple of days.

2018 Invitationals – SWIMACON

Finally getting to post about my girls’ achievements at the 2018 Swimacon Invitational. This three day event is held every summer. All the teams in the league come together to find the best of the best!

Friday and Saturday were preliminary rounds. Both girls made it the finals in all of their strokes! Kennedy swam freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly. Jules swam freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. I love their huge smiles when they get out of the pool – they come straight to their mom and dad for congratulatory hugs.

On the day of the finals I was a nervous wreck. I knew it would be extremely close judging from the preliminary times. I told the girls to just have fun and swim like a fish!

Jules did not place; however, she improved drastically over the season. She even won the award for “most improved in backstroke” – we are so proud of all the hard work she has been putting in at practice.

Kennedy’s freestyle race was one of the best races I’ve ever watched her swim. Everyone was screaming for her…she was behind most of the race (as you can see in pictures) – she came back right at the end and placed first overall in freestlye! We were jumping and screaming when she got out of that pool!

Jules swam backstroke next. She went a little sideways and hit a ladder towards the end. She must have thought she hit the finish wall, because her feet came down and she stood up (which is a disqualification in backstroke). Aunt Lisa just so happened to be stroke judging that session, and had to write a slip for Julesy. I just smiled, because that is so Jules. The girl still doesn’t realize…she walked out of the pool and headed straight for the snowball stand.

Kennedy’s next swim was breaststroke. She placed 3rd overall!

We knew the final points would come down to her butterfly swim. She placed second overall!

While we waited for the all-around high point awards to be tallied, we watched the alumni relay races. The girls enjoyed cheering for Daddy who swam butterfly!

At 7 years old, Kennedy won the gold high point trophy in 7-8 girls! We are extremely proud of how she has grown in the past year, and how much work she puts into everything she does! (while we were in a rain delay, she apparently drew all over her body)

It was long and hot, but a wonderful weekend! Thanks to everyone who kept Easton busy at home while we were watching Kennedy and Jules! GO GATORS!
