Our Polar Express

I wanted to capture my kiddos while they are still in the “magic” of Christmas stage. I absolutely love this time of year with young kids. I love watching them find the elf as soon as they wake up, I love watching their eyes as they tell Santa what they want…I love all the magic. So that’s exactly what I wanted to bring alive on our very own Polar Express photo shoot!

At sunset, we drove to the nearby railroad track…just down the street from Nana’s house! Just like the book/movie, all the kids were dressed in pajamas, looking for the train to take them to the North Pole.

“The thing about trains… it doesn’t matter where they’re going. What matters is deciding to get on.”

I had an idea in my head of the picture I wanted. It’s so magical, and I cannot wait to print it and display it every Christmas. Santa sprinkled some magical dust and made the North Pole train appear. He even left us a bonus by making it snow ;)

Family Pictures 2017 – Grace Claire Photography

It was time to update our family pictures since Easton was 8 months old in our last ones! Our super cute photographer from Grace Claire Photography headed ALLLL the way to God’s country to get some shots of our family in a spot not far from our backyard.

We hopped in Seth’s truck and headed down the dirt roads. She probably thought, “Where in the world am I!?” I absolutely love them all, and I had a hard time choosing.

After about 10 minutes, Easton was DONE. About 5 minutes after that, his little suspenders broke :( I’m just glad she was able to capture a couple with him smiling – I thought for sure he would be grumpy in them all!

Of course the girls were not shy in front of the camera at all! I love how our photographer captured all the quirky little faces they make.

Thanks again to Grace Claire Photography for capturing our family so perfectly!

Family Pictures 2016 – Grace Claire Photography

My Mother’s Day present this year was family pictures – our last family picture on the wall was when I was holding 4 month old Jules. It was time.

I had been eyeing Grace Claire Photography for a while now on Facebook. I loved how natural her photographs come across – not posed, not too fancy…just right :)

I seriously had to narrow down about 5 times just to choose several I liked – she did such an awesome job. My kids were a little crazy on this day…Easton wasn’t feeling that well…and she still managed to get some awesome shots. I’m in love! Best Mother’s Day present ever!

Toward the end of the session (when the girls were getting really wound up), the photographer just kept snapping the camera at them being their silly little selves. These are some of my favorite photos. This is so them!

My favorite picture of all is the one below – this is truly our family. The crazy kids just hanging around while momma and daddy try and sneak in a kiss when we can. Before we know it, they won’t be so little anymore…I will treasure this memory for a long time! It’s our beautiful chaos.

Pucker Up

With Valentine’s Day approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to take some photos of the love in the house. Kennedy and Jules absolutely ADORE Easton. Sometime a little too much…They always want to kiss him, hug him, hold him, give him toys, etc. He serves as their real life baby doll.

You would think he would get aggravated (and sometimes he does), but the majority of the time, he LOVES how much they LOVE him! He laughs at them, and enjoys just watching them play. I’m savoring these moments, because I know the sibling rivalry will emerge soon enough!

I thought this little photo shoot captured these moments perfectly. The girls had the time of their lives putting on lipstick and smooching all over Easton. He had some big belly laughs during these pictures. I’ll have to agree with him….I think his sisters are pretty funny too :)

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

Since I was taking my friend’s family pictures at a cottage nearby, I figured I would bring my gang in hopes to get a Christmas card shot.

Getting everyone to look at the camera is the hardest part…my kids smile automatically, but their eyes just wonder around while they hold their smile. And for some reason I thought it would be a great idea to add our Harley Marley into the mix, so getting him to look as well was another challenge. Believe it or not, he is always the best behaved out of everyone.

All in all, I think we have some good ones, and our Christmas card winner. One of my favorites is my girls playing with the oversized checkers set. I love the random ones the best :)

Easton’s Newborn Pictures

It’s no surprise I love taking pictures. It’s a rare occasion when we go to a professional photographer, because I love the hobby of taking and editing the photos myself. So when it was time for Easton’s newborn pictures to be taken, I could not wait to “play babies” with him and pose him for the camera.

I knew I wanted his big sisters in a couple of them, so I figured we would take those first since I knew that would be the most challenging. Momma has her work cut out for her getting three to cooperate!

I saw an idea on Pinterest of the “stork” dropping a basket by the door, and the sibling(s) finding the baby at the doorstep. I put Easton in a basket and did not tell the girls. I told them open the door for a surprise :)

Next we took some pictures in only his diaper – I wanted to get some good face close-ups and that blonde hair.

Next I wanted to have some fun with Harley. I bribed him with a treat, and he let me pose him like I wanted. Easton even smiled while Harley was posing on him! A smiling newborn and a dog – could it get any sweeter!?

Of course with all his baseball décor, I had to setup a little baseball backdrop. We tried these with Easton being naked; however, he prefers to be swaddled tight. Still adorable!

Last but not least we had to take some pictures for Dad – Who Dat style :)
Can you believe my boy started smiling during his Saints pictures!? His dad was so happy and said, “well what did you expect?”

I added a little bonus for giggles :)

He smiles often. Some people says he’s seeing angels, others say it’s gas. I like to think he’s just happy being here :)

It took me three days (and a lot of patience), but I’m so happy with his pictures. I can’t believe it’s been one week already that we have had him in our lives. Seems like he’s always been here :)

Maternity Photos – 32 weeks

Ever since I had my little girls, I always wanted to take pictures with them in an all-dolled up photoshoot – just us girls. I figured a maternity photoshoot would be the perfect opportunity…before our little BOY comes! I wanted something really feminine…really pretty. I had visions of us in beautiful dresses in a field somewhere. I had our photographer all booked, and we were getting excited. One week before our pictures, the photographer had to reschedule…ok no biggie.

Finally, it was picture day! We spent all afternoon getting pretty – and it took ALL afternoon…trust me. We painted nails, had a snack, curled hair, had a meltdown, put on makeup, had another snack, painted nails again because they touched something…you could imagine the hormonal zoo that afternoon.

I loaded everyone in my car and the photographer called me…to reschedule. She said it was raining in the field where we were headed. I was bummed. I was exhausted. There was no way I was rescheduling again after we had done all of our beauty work LOL. I was just going to cancel altogether. Luckily, Nana came to the rescue and said, “Come on over, and I’ll take some pictures of ya’ll!” So we headed to Mr. “Weasel” & Mrs. Delane’s beautiful yard down my mom & dad’s street. They have so many picture opportunities in that yard!

Nana did an awesome job! We took a bunch then I headed home to edit them all – my favorite part :)

We didn’t get my field I was hoping for, but I LOVE the way these pictures turned out! Thank you SO much Nana, Mr. Weasel, & Mrs. Delane for saving us from a photoshoot meltdown!

A lot of people asked me where their dresses came from…
I had been eyeing those dresses on Zulily for weeks now. They come in a variety of colors, and I thought this blue/green would be perfect. I love all the pleats in the dress, and I was lucky enough to find a dress for myself with the same pleats!
